Learning Ways Find A Way Cure Mange With A Non To Find A Wayxic Mange Medicine

By Wendell Ruben

Finding a cure for mange with non-toxic mange medicine can sometimes seem to be an impossible task. This disease, caused by mite infestation, is first noticed on dogs when they start scratching intensely and hair starts falling out. It can also be found in some other animals as well as humans. In humans it is called Demodicosis which is not difficult to cure as mites find it difficult to remain on the human body.

Cats that have mange are infected with Demodectic Mange Mites. Dogs have Red Mange Mites and/or Demodectic Mange Mites. Scarcopic Mange is the most infectious of all. Dogs may have mange in a small patch or on large areas of the body.

The infected areas are very itchy and results in extensive scratching. Eventually this are may form a crust and have draining. This condition can become life threatening with open sores and fever. A study has shown that this may be inherited from the animal's parents so it is recommended that no further breeding be done.

There are a number of treatments available for consideration. One used by many veterinarians and which can be used at home is the Mitaban Dip. This medication is approved by the FDA, comes in concentrated form and just needs to be mixed with warm water. The animal is then bathed in a medicated shampoo with the dip following. However, it has been found that this dip is toxic to some dogs and can cause severe side effects. When this happens, even more medicine must be administered.

If the condition has become too severe and is life threatening it will require intensive treatment by a veterinarian. In this case antibiotics, oral medications and Amitraz Dips may be given. Again, these treatments might cause a reaction by the animal and must be closely supervised.

Records show that the oldest known and very effective, treatment for this disease is dipping. When treating the animal in this manner usually an anti-bacterial or anti-itch shampoo proceeds the dipping. Dipping takes some time and effort but a check of the Internet will find peoples' testimonials of various home methods that worked when all else failed.

People have written many of these testimonials claiming that the combination of borax, peroxide and warm water have worked in curing mange. In these cases, they used the dip method and left the product on the animal until the next shampoo. There are also many other mange products commercially advertised on the Internet. It's always a good idea to talk to someone before trying any unusual treatment for something as serious mange.

There is nothing more painful than seeing one's family pet suffering. The scratching, itching and loss of hair reveals pain and unhappiness. Treating this pet in a manner that will not cause further side affects is paramount to finding the proper method of treatment. To avoid further problems for the animal it is important to find a way to cure mange with a non toxic mange medicine. - 31851

A Simple Guide To Learn How To Treat Ear Mites Effectively

By Wendell Ruben

Pets can be afflicted by an array of parasites and pests. There is typically treatment and preventative measures for all kinds. Ear mites are no different. It is important for pet owners to learn how to treat ear mites in order to keep their pets healthy.

Ear mites are a microscopic organism very similar to dust mites. Unlike the name suggests, these critters can live elsewhere on the body of the animal, not just the ear canal. They are not contagious to humans. However, they are highly contagious to other pets. They are transferred between animals through physical contact with an infected animal.

Regular ear cleanings for pets is a important. This can easily be done at home thing to do. A mixture of half hydrogen peroxide and half water is a good cleaning solution. Lightly moisten a cotton swab in this mixture and clean the visible part of the pets ears. Do not use the same swab on both ears. This helps prevent transmission of something that could be in one ear to the other. This will also provide the owner with a regular inspection of the pets ears for unnatural discharge and help prevent ear infections.

The symptoms of an ear mite infection include scratching ears, shaking head, being off balance, and not walking in a straight line. These parasites live in the ear canal and cause itching. This is why the animal will itch or shake its head. Like humans with inner ear problems, mites can cause imbalance and throw off equilibrium in an animal. The amount of itching and head shaking is dependant on the severity of the infestation. A discharge of fresh or dried blood will also be seen in the ears. The dried blood looks like coffee grounds. This is generally a sign of infestation. If the mites are somewhere other than the ear canal, the pet may or may not scratch at the area.

There are serious problems that can arise from no treating an infestation. These include skin disease, ear infection and permanent hearing loss from damage to the ear canal and drum.

There are different types of over the counter medication that is readily available. These take three to four weeks to treat the problem. They do not have an ingredient in them that kills mite eggs. They typically are a liquid solution.

Prescription medication takes anywhere from ten to fourteen days because it does kill mite eggs. These medications come as drops or injections. They have to be obtained by a veterinarian.

Flea and tick medications, like shampoos and drops, will kill mites that are outside the pets ears. A pet on a flea treatment should not have mites on their body.

If there are multiple pets in the house, it is important to treat all of them simultaneously. This will ensure that all mites are killed and repeat infestations do not occur. Since they are so contagious, if one pet is not treated, the cycle will just keep repeating itself.

If an animal does suffer from repeat infestations, the animal should be taken to the veterinarian. The same is true if the pet has severe symptoms or needs prescription treatment.

It is important to treat ear mites at the first signs of infestation. This will prevent the problem from worsening. Learn to treat ear mites and know the symptoms to help keep pets healthy. - 31851

Spotting An Ear Mite Treatment For Pets

By Wendell Ruben

A pet who continually scratches its ears is signaling that there is something wrong that is causing discomfort. One of the most common cause of this is problem is ear mites. While a veterinarian can treat them, it is also possible to provide some treatment at home. Determining if this is the problem may be made by removing debris from the animal's ear. Cotton swabs should not be used for this purpose as they can cause damage to the ears, cotton balls are suggested intead.

Ear mites can be spread from one animal to another very easily. For this reason, if it is determined that this is the problem, it should be taken care of immediately. Ear mites live in the ear canal and can be identified by dark brown, crumbly, material, similar to coffee grounds. Upon removing some of this material, one can see these tiny mites. They are usually white in color and very small, approximately the size of a typed period.

As with many parasites of this type, mites can multiply very rapidly. When eggs are laid it only takes four days for the mites to emerge. They, in turn, rapidly develop into adults, mate and produce more eggs. Unfortunately, if not properly destroyed they can go outside of the ear to the head and eyes.

Cats are the most common sufferer from ear mites. Dogs can, but rarely, have this problem. Yeast or bacterial infection is a common comparison of this disease. Finding proper medication and treating immediately will avoid further complications such as spreading to the head or eyes and causing more problems.

All medication for ear mites requires removing as much of the ear debris as possible. Medication on the market consists of veterinarian prescriptions or injection and over-the-counter brands. Some applications are one time, take 10 days or 30 days depending on which type used. Whichever is used completing the length of treatment, even if the symptoms seem to be gone, is essential if the problem is to be completely eradicated.

Ingredients such as Acarexx, Melbnite, Tresaderm and others are often used in mite treatment medicines. Medication injected usually contains Ivermectin. Insecticides usually are the main ingredients for over-the-counter medication. Before using any treatment it should be determined if the pet might have adverse reactions to the treatment.

One of the suggestions made is to put drops of warm oil in the ear in order to remove the debris and some mites. This will not kill any mites but can immobilize a few of them for a short period while the ear is being cleaned. When this is done then medication can be given. A word of caution, sometimes the problem is not mites and common treatments are in vain. If, after treatment for the period prescribed, there is no relief then a professional should be consulted.

A pet is like a family member and one wishes them to be comfortable and happy in their surroundings. When a condition such as ear mites occurs, and is made obvious by trying to scratch the ear, it is important that immediate action be taken. Relief needs to be obtained as soon as possible by locating an ear mite treatment for pets. - 31851

All You Need to Understand Dealing With Picking Out a Animal for Your Family

By Ronald Hescalese

There are a lot of parents who love to buy pets for their kids as kids love them and hence they have to consider which pet would be the safest for their child. Here are a number of pets that have been listed as a possible option for you to choose from and make your kid quite happy and joyous. Some of the pets are okay for kids while others may prove to be dangerous. This is what should prompt you to get adequate details before making your choice.

Fishes: These can be one of the finest selections since they are the least harmful. Kids can enjoy looking at them and feeding them when all they do is stay inside their water. These are not even very expensive so you can easily buy them right way. Fishes are easy to kept or do not require too much maintenance either. All you have to be sure of is their feeding time and quantity.

You have to be careful with delicate varieties that can die if they overeat. It is also a problem that fish are seen to die after a les span of time. This is why if your kid gets attached it could be a problem. Kids also like to hold their pets but with fish this is quite impossible.

Rodents: When considering pet animals it makes sense to look at gerbils, rats, guinea pigs and hamsters from the rodent family as pets for your house too. While they are small, kids can touch them and easily play with them. It is easy to place them in the house without being hassled too much about the need for any heavy duty maintenance. But you may have to watch out for your stuff as rodents have the habit of biting and chewing when disturbed. When your kids are asleep at night, rodents can be quite energetic which is why you will have to be on the lookout.

Rabbits: These are somewhat like rodents but a little bigger on size. These can be cuddled up with and played with throughout the day which is why kids love them. They also afford enough exercise with the kids. But sometimes it is a problem to catch them. They are also prone to chewing doors and cords so that you should not leave them unattended.

In addition you can look at chicks, birds, puppies and kittens as pet animals which have some advantage and disadvantages also. These need to be well analyzed before you make your choice. - 31851

The Things I Can't Stand About Pet Door Replacement Flaps

By Shane Porterman

I am a big softie who adores all types of pets. My three dogs are just fantastic, but they have a habit of using their dog doors all the time.

To help me out from going crazy, I had two of the pet doors installed in our home, making it easy for them to come and go whenever they wanted to.

The thing is though, these fine specimens of dog doors tend to break down all the time. As often as every 4-6 months, so I am left having to buy pet door replacement flaps for them.

Off I trot to the local store. I'm actually on first name terms with the store owner now because I seem to be in there almost every month for something.

Jim, the store owner laughs when I tell him why I am here, again. he knows right where to go, and gets the parts for me without even asking which ones. If it wasn't for my dogs enjoying a game called chase the butteflies then perhaps I wouldn't have to come down here so often.

Anyway, Jim sells me the replacements for both of the dog doors, setting me back almost $40. Ok, I can live with that, I just wish it wasn't so often, if you know what I mean.

What I don't like about these flaps is that they wear down too quickly. What I mean is that the hinges keep on wearing and becoming tired, eventually breaking.

Funnily enough, my dogs tend to enjoy the taste and sensation of chewing on the flaps.

Once they begin to wear, the cold air can then get in. As a consequence of this, it gets cold inside, and the flaps begin to make noises in the night time.

In desperation we once switched to magnetic flaps, but they simply amplified the noise created when the wind got behind them.

Of course, the dogs don't appear very amused at the cold air that wafts in the house, and often they end up in our bedroom at night.

And unbelievably the neighbors dog has even let himself in to our home, and left his scent all over the place.

Until recently, we have been putting up with all these misgivings, just so we can ensure our dogs stay happy, or so we thought.

Recently we started to look at better brands, and go for slightly more expensive models, but ones that had much highly specifications.

This has actually inspired us to look at things in a new light, and because of this we strongly recommend you consider a well known brand for yourself. - 31851
